| About the Karl H. Weaner Center |
- Opened: 1964
- Last Renovated: 2018
- Capacity: 2,000
- Alternate Practice Gym: McMaster Gymnasium
- Weight Room: Student-Athlete Weight Room (Smart Center)
The Karl H. Weaner Center is the home to DC Women's Basketball in addition to the men's basketball, women's volleyball, men's volleyball and wrestling programs. Defiance boasts one of the largest home facilities in the WHAC with a new court design, new baskets and updated seating to enhance the experience of players and fans. In 2023, the gymnasium floor was resurfaced and redesigned before its dedication to Coach Marv Hohenberger, who was a longtime men's basketball coach and NAIA Hall of Famer.
In addition to the facilities within the Karl H. Weaner Center, the Yellow Jackets women's basketball team trains within the adjoining McMaster Center and adjacent George M. Smart Center. The McMaster Center Gymnasium serves as an auxiliary practice space for all of DC's indoor teams. The Smart Center houses the newly refurbished Student-Athlete Weight Room, which is exclusively for Defiance College athletes.

| Defiance, Ohio and Surrounding Areas |
|
Defiance is located in Northwest Ohio at the confluence of the Auglaize and Maumee Rivers. Founded in 1823, Defiance celebrated the city's bicentennial in 2023. The population of Defiance is 17,000 people, and it serves as a hub of activity for the nearly 200,000 residents of the surrounding six counties. The quiet, small-town setting reinforces a sense of community and allows students to concentrate on their studies, personal growth, and athletic goals without the noise and pressure of a large, bustling city. Defiance residents and students are one hour or less from larger cities such as Fort Wayne, Toledo or Lima and two hours from Detroit. Columbus, Cleveland and Chicago are also just a few hours away from campus.
